Apple will conduct its grand launching event for the oft-leaked iPhone 13 family next week, on September 14. Despite some negative connotations, a slew of leaks have “confirmed” (as much as any leak can) that the company will indeed use the number 13.
That means next year we’re getting the iPhone 14 series, and today the first renders of the iPhone 14 Pro Max have been outed
As you can see, the design isn’t a significant change from what Apple has been doing recently, but there are two very startling components, both of which are’missing.’ The ‘trademark’ iPhone notch is gone, replaced by a single center-mounted hole punch front camera, and the cameras on the back are flush with the rest of the phone’s back – no camera bump, hump, island, whatever you want to call it, it’s gone.
The phone doesn’t look overly thick, though, so assuming this incredibly early leak is spot-on, that’s quite the engineering feat we assume – to have flush cameras like that isn’t easy considering how much ‘inside space’ they need

When it comes to the notch, it appears that this does not imply that Face ID is also gone. The rest of the sensors, according to the source, will be buried beneath the display, similar to the under-display selfie cameras that are becoming popular in the Android market. That doesn’t seem very likely, but it’s still early in the development cycle for this phone, so anything could happen.

The images were generated by an artist based on schematics and information provided by unknown sources, rather than being released directly from Apple. Note that the colours haven’t been finalised yet, and no details about what’s inside the iPhone 14 Pro Max have been revealed at this time, but previous rumours suggested it will include a 6.7-inch screen, a 48 MP main camera (outputting 12 MP pixel binned photos), and compatibility for 8K video capture.
Given the fact that we’re approximately a year removed from the formal unveiling of this leaked model, it goes without saying that you should take everything with a grain of salt.
